Some people celebrate on social networks, chat platforms and discussion groups, and the argument heats up and the flames of the verbal battle blaze — and I am certain that those who argue do not know what the goals of the revolution were, nor do they care whether they were achieved or not, nor do they even seriously try to spread the awareness that truly serves the homeland.

All they care about is appearing in the guise of the patriotic defender of the republic, when they do not even know what happened after September 26 — and how the revolutionaries fought each other.

Unfortunately, a person's default programming is black and white — in other words, either with you or against you — save for a rare few individuals who can see the whole picture from a distance.

For example: even if Yemen developed — however far those who rule it now are from that — and became a state with regional weight, it would not be recognized, nor would every right-holder get their due. And unfortunately, no decisive, strong and effective action would be taken to repel those who seized control of the north of Yemen.

Nor have they read about or understood the mentality of Yemen, because when crowds of people gather, the language of emotion is used with them — and that is what those ruling Sana'a have mastered.

So if you are one of those people who screech at the top of their lungs about the September revolution, then you must buy authentic Yemeni Sidr honey from my friend Tawfiq — for your shouting will need oiling, and there is nothing better than honey for that. Ask Mariah Carey: before every song she would take a spoonful of honey.

Okay, Hamdani, so what is required of us? What is required of us is true solidarity and honesty with ourselves. If we cannot, in the diaspora, form a Yemeni community with fair elections, then how can we expect to free a people from the grip of one who claims he belongs to the family of the Messenger — he who was sent to perfect noble character?

And as for expecting Saudi Arabia and the UAE to free Yemen from whoever seized it — know, my dear brother, that these countries follow the Western approach, meaning that their interests and the welfare of their people come first, and only then do they look at friendly or sisterly nations.

So it is no wonder at all that the Crown Prince meets with those who represent the group, and that the negotiation process begins — especially if that serves their interests. And know that war begets war, and peace begets peace, and know that if you want peace, prepare for war.

And finally: ending the war in Yemen is a harsh test for the group, because they were programmed for fighting — so when you hand them peace, you put them under tremendous pressure whose consequences may not be good.

And know that the people will not revolt — especially since they are a people drugged with qat, with a little freedom and just enough to feed themselves day to day. And if you want the people to move, they must have a brave, shrewd leader — the people will rally around him. Other than that, the people will not move a single inch.
